Water Rescue Skills Refresher Course

This 16-hour course is a fast paced, scenario-based event and is open to all currently certified swiftwater and rescue boat technicians.  The course will open with an orientation and skills review, assignment of teams and equipment, and will move from there to several scenario events that will test your swiftwater and boat-based skills and tactics, both as an individual rescuer and as a member of a rescue boat team.  A night operation will be held at the end of the first day and multiple competition stations will be available, such as throwbag accuracy, timed IRB obstacle runs, and swimming challenges.  Whether you regularly operate IRBs or it has been a while since you have been in a boat, this program will challenge your skills, identify areas for improvement, and improve your ability to integrate into a water rescue event as an individual rescuer or as a boat team.

Designed For:   Currently Certified Public safety members with river and flood rescue responsibilities.

Prerequisites:

-Swiftwater Rescue or Water Rescue Technician Certificate

- Rescue Boat Operations or Motorized Water Rescue Technician Certificate

Hours: 16 hours

Required PPE:

* Helmet

* Live Bait Type V PFD 

* Wetsuit or Drysuit

* Water Shoes

* Gloves

Course will be confirmed once the minimum class roster of 12 students is met.  

Refund Policy: Full refund is available if canceling more than 30 days before the course. Cancellations made within 30 days of the course will receive a 75% credit towards a future course. Cancellations made within 15 days or more before the course will receive a 50% credit toward a future course. No credits will be issued for cancellations made fewer than 14 days of the first day of the course. Credits are good for 1 calendar year, no exceptions.  Any cancellations must be received via written notice and emailed to maritime@intrepidgroup.us. Cancellations made outside of the 30 day window will be given a full refund or full credit transferable to a future training with Intrepid Maritime.
